So, You've Found Your Niche...

The last post discussed Niche Marketing and I gave you a great resource called "Niche Marketing Master Course," by Simon Hodgkinson. If for some reason, you need more info on choosing your niche, I came across another great Free resource called Niche Profits Course by Joe Cooper. It is a $97 value that he is giving away to you. And there is definitely some helpful info in his report that might fill in the gaps for you.

Now that we got this out of the way, you need to get an autoresponder. You may be asking what that is. Basically it is a database management system that you can use to build your opt-in list of subscribers which enables you to automate your follow-up/emailing process to your leads/list of subscribers. Now I am trying to help you keep your expenses to a minimum, so I will give you some links to some free autoresponders that I recommend you use.

3. Aweber : I use this one. This has the best response out of all of the autoresponders out there. Your emails will reach over 99.3% of all recipients' inboxes for their email account. You can get a free 30 day trial, but after that you have to pay. I pay for it with pleasure because I know my people are getting my emails. I don't have to wonder.

So, you have a website now. What next?

In the last post, I mentioned selecting a niche/market. There are a couple of ways you can do it. You can select a market based on your personal interests, but make sure there is a market for it. Or, you can select a market based on what people spend money on. Do you really care what market it is? Let's take internet marketing as an example. You may be saying to yourself, "But Jay, you idiot, everybody and their mother is in that niche!" So what, a lot of money changes hands in that niche. It is a proven market that can make you money. It really can be anything. But you must make sure you choose something that people are spending money on. I don't want to get into a long discussion about choosing your niche or your market, so I put together a zip file of Simon Hodgkinson's Niche Marketing Master Course. Just click on the image below. So How and Where Do I Get Started?

You may be asking yourself the above question. I did too. The first thing that Mike Filsaime told me to do was to read his ebook titled Carbon Copy Marketing and watch the 41 videos that came along with the book. He created that ebook and video series as a blueprint and exact replica of how he made $5045 each and every month. He obviously makes a whole lot more now, but he started from zero just like me and you. You don't have to take my advice and read his book and watch his 41 videos that go into great detail on how to make money online. I did and it has made all the difference.

Now that we got that out of the way. The first thing you need to do is figure out exactly which niche, or market, you want to target. Then you definitely want to register a domain name. I use GoDaddy for all of my domain names and hosting. You can also use Kiosk.ws or Host 4 Profit. Host 4 Profit is kind of pricey, but they offer a reseller/affiliate program with a generous payout to make up for their high prices. They are not the only ones, though. Just type in domain names or website hosting in Google and a whole bunch of different service providers will show up. They all pretty much charge the same price. It's only around $10/year to have a domain name. And for a couple of extra dollars you can have it private so nobody can do a who's who and get your info to spam you.

Now the domain name you want to choose is up to you. I registered JasonDinner.com as my first site. I recommend you register yourname.com because it is good for branding. How crappy would you feel if you started making some real money online, but didn't have yourname.com because you thought you wouldn't need it, and someone else registered it because they knew it would rank high in the search engines? Just do it! Make it a home page for all of your other sites.

Building An Opt-In List Is Easy...No Seriously, It Is.

A good friend of mine by the name of Mike Filsaime told me that the secret to making money via internet marketing is from building a list. He said, and I believe it, that you can make $1 per month for every email address that you get. It doesn't sound like much, but it adds up after a while.

I'm guessing that you are here because you don't have a list, but want to learn how to build one. Chances are that since you don't have a list, you probably are not making any money. Now don't take it personal or get angry with me, I was in the same position about 3 months ago. I was joining every online network marketing program under the sun and trying to promote them in traffic exchanges. You may be doing the same thing, and as we both have witnessed, you can't and won't make any money doing that. You need a list. Stop spinning your wheels and chasing your own tail, and take my free advice.

Up until July 21st, 2005, I did not have one name or email address on my personal list. Nothing. Plus I was making no money.

Let's fast forward to October 31st, 2005. I have over 1600 names on my list from people that opted in or subscribed at one of my many websites. I am not telling you this to brag, but to help you understand how easy it is to succeed at internet marketing. I know nothing compared to all of the gurus out there. I am only a few months into this whole "make money online" game.
